The biggest issue with the proportions is that GM required the Corvette to have a large rear trunk for its target market. Obviously, the small front trunk is constrained by the low bodywork height and the front suspension crowding it in.

My car can have a rear trunk without spoiling the proportions because the engine is 1) half the size, and 2) mounted transverse.  Also, it isn’t required to fit golf clubs.
